ORDINANCE NO. 10110 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING CARR STREET, MITCHELL AVENUE, READ AVENUE, WEST 27TH STREET, AND AN ALLEY LOCATED SOUTHEAST OF LONG STREET AND NORTHEAST OF WEST 28TH STREET, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN. _______________________ SECTION 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby closed and abandoned Carr Street, Mitchell Avenue, Read Avenue, West 27th Street, and an alley located southeast of Long Street and northeast of West 28th Street, more particularly described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference: 1) Carr Street, a 50 foot wide unopened right-of-way beginning on the southwest line of West 27th Street and extending southwest some 313 feet (average) between parallel lines to the northeast line of West 28th Street. Said street separates lots 60-62 and part of lot 63 from lots 73 and 74 and part of lot 75, Vaughn's Addition, not recorded. 2) Mitchell Avenue, a 30 foot wide unopened right-of-way beginning on the northeast line of West 27th Street and extending northeast 512 feet between parallel lines to the northeast line (if extended) of lots 52 and 55, Hughe's Subdivision of Vaughn's Addition, as shown by plat of record in plat book 2, page 36, ROHC. Said street separates lots 40-52 from lots 55-67, said Hughe's Subdivision. 3) Read Avenue, a 40 foot wide unopened right-of-way beginning on the southwest line of Market Street and extending southwest some 346 feet (average) between parallel lines to the southwest line of West 27th Street. Said street separates lots 30, 32, 34, 36, and part of 28 from lots 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, 37, 38, 39, and part of 25, Hughe's Subdivision of Vaughn's Addition, as shown by plat of record in plat book 2, page 36, ROHC. 4) West 27th Street, a 50 foot wide unopened right-of- way beginning on the southeast line of Carr Street and extending southeast 180 feet between parallel lines to the southeast line of Mitchell Avenue. Said street separates lot 67, Hughe's Subdivision of Vaughn's Addition, as shown by plat of record in plat book 2, page 36, ROHC, from lot 73, Vaughn's Addition, not recorded. 5) A 10 foot wide unopened alleyway beginning 272 feet northeast of the northeast line of West 27th Street, said point being the southwest line (if extended) of lots 27 and 47, Hughe's Subdivision of Vaughn's Addition, as shown by plat of record in plat book 2, page 36, ROHC, and extending northeast 240 feet between parallel lines to the northeast line (if extended) of lots 17 and 52, said Hughe's Subdivision. Said alleyway separates lots 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, and 27 from lots 47-52, said subdivision. Tax Map No. 155C-F-1, 2, 5-8, 11, and 16-25; and 155C-L-2, 3, 5, and 10-13. 0C SECTION 2.
